Life Cycle Refresh

Yale Health Sciences IT provides hardware consultation across the health campus and purchase support for School of Medicine (SOM) central academic units.

Note: The centralized school-wide ordering through Life Cycle Refresh (LCR) is on hold for the remainder of FY25.

For School of Medicine Central Academic Units

  • The only laptop currently in stock is the Standard Lenovo Laptop (see list here).
  • To order, submit a request using the Hardware Consultation Form:
    1. Select whether you are ordering for yourself or someone else.
    2. Under Short Description, note: Requesting LCR computer stock, Standard Lenovo Laptop.
    3. In Description, include the COA.
    4. Complete the remaining fields and submit.

For Other School of Medicine Units

  • View HSIT Approved Standard Configurations here, including high-compute workstations.
  • Equipment ordering is the responsibility of individual department Business Offices, through Workday/SciQuest with approved vendors:
    • GovConnection
    • Apple
  • If consultation is needed before ordering, submit a request via the portal link.
  • Once you have a delivery date, submit a desktop support request with the PO number to assist with configuration.

Getting Started With Your Device

Windows/PC Devices

Step Instructions
First Login Log in on campus while connected to Yale Secure Wi-Fi using your NetID + password.
DUO Multi-Factor Set up via mfa.its.yale.edu. If not previously enrolled, follow the prompts.
Office 365 Open Outlook, log in with NetID + password. Other Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote) will auto-activate.
OneDrive Open OneDrive, log in with Yale email + password, continue through prompts to sync and back up Desktop, Documents, Pictures.
Email Access via Outlook app or outlook.office365.com with NetID + password.
Software/Apps Install apps via Software Center or yale.onthehub.com. Licenses can be activated in Software Center.

Apple Devices

Step Instructions
First Login Recommended: log in on campus while connected to Yale Secure Wi-Fi using your NetID + password. If off campus, use Cisco Secure Client VPN (access.yale.edu/INF) to connect, then restart and log in.
DUO Multi-Factor Set up via mfa.its.yale.edu. If not previously enrolled, follow the prompts.
OneDrive Open OneDrive, log in with Yale email + password, continue through prompts to sync and back up Desktop, Documents, Pictures.
Email Access via Outlook app or outlook.office365.com with NetID + password.
Software/Apps Install apps via Company Portal or yale.onthehub.com. Licenses can also be activated in Software Center.
