Spotlight: Jeffrey Mozealous

December 9, 2024

We’re excited to introduce Jeff Mozealous, our IT Manager overseeing the operations of the Health Sciences IT Technology Support Services team. While Jeff has been with Yale for just a handful of months, he has already made a significant impact on our team and the broader Health Sciences IT community.

Jeff brings 13 years of healthcare IT experience with him, most notably from Hartford HealthCare where he started as an IT Support Specialist and moved up through the ranks as IT Project Manager, Manager of IT Service Delivery, and System Director. Prior to Yale, he managed approximately 90 staff across multiple IT departments serving 34,000 colleagues and 30,000 endpoints across:  IT Service Management, DevOps, Field Services, IT Service Desk, Asset Management, Access Provisioning, Audio/Visual, and Collaborative Services.

In this Q&A, Jeff shares a bit about his role, current projects, and a memorable moment from their first few weeks at Yale.

How many years have you been at Yale?
“I’ve been here for five months, and it’s been an exciting start!”

What is your role within Health Sciences IT?
“I serve as IT Manager within the HSIT Technology Support Services team, where I oversee the operations of the DSP (Desktop Support Program) team. We work closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure smooth technology operations and troubleshooting across the Health Sciences campus.”

What initiatives or projects are you, or your team, currently supporting?
“My team is involved in several key initiatives, including Hardware Asset Management and Life-Cycle Refresh programs. We are also focusing on refreshing Anatomy Lab & Classroom Equipment, ensuring that the technology supporting these critical spaces is up-to-date and functional.”

What is your favorite Yale memory so far?
“One of the most memorable experiences so far was during my first week when the global CrowdStrike incident occurred. It was amazing to see how the HSIT DSP team came together, responding with great professionalism and dedication to assist our customers. Despite the intensity of the situation, the team went above and beyond to ensure that everyone’s needs were met. Beyond the work itself, I’ve enjoyed exploring the campus, meeting members of the Yale community, and appreciating the rich history, architecture, and culture that make Yale such a unique place.”

We’re thrilled to have Jeff on the team and look forward to the continued impact he’ll have in supporting Yale’s Health Sciences IT initiatives. Welcome aboard!
