Years at Yale:
Andres has been a valuable part of the Yale community for over six years. He began his journey in May 2018 as a System Application Specialist for the Yale School of Medicine Finance Business Systems Planning and Analysis team under Richard Dwyer. In this role, he supported FileMaker database applications. Over time, his team became integrated into Health Sciences IT, where Andres’s skills and dedication paved the way for his current position.
Role within Health Sciences IT:
Today, Andres serves as the IT Manager of Application Development. In this leadership role, he manages a talented team of two developers, a project manager, and project contracted resources. Together, they tackle various projects and ensure the smooth operation of custom applications vital to Yale’s operations.
Current Initiatives and Projects:
Andres’s team is at the forefront of developing and maintaining custom applications across multiple platforms, including FileMaker, OutSystems, Power BI, and Salesforce. Their work involves integrating these applications with both internal Yale systems and vendor-hosted cloud services, ensuring seamless functionality and efficiency for the university’s diverse needs.
Favorite Yale Memory:
Reflecting on his time at Yale, Andres fondly recalls the holiday festivities and fiscal year-end social gatherings with the Yale School of Medicine Finance team during his early years at the university. These moments not only provided a break from the busy work environment but also fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among colleagues.
